This week after a last-minute cancellation I found myself with some studio time without anyone to shoot. Obviously it’d be a shame to waste it! With less than 24 hours to go I was fortunate enough to find Nataly, a beautiful Ukrainian model studying Experimental Psychology here in Oxford who agreed to join me.
With the help of Nataly, I used this time to practice a lighting set-up that I’ve been interested in for a while now: It’s a modified clam-shell with rear kicker to add a layer of separation, with the ability to add some creative lens flare effects. I’m hoping it will eventually become a bit of a signature style.
Here are some of my favourite shots from the session:
Nataly is a fantastic model – she really took direction well and nothing was too much trouble. I really recommend her!
